Tina received her early training from the Rose Marie Floyd Studio of Dance in Royal Oak, Michigan, where she completed six levels of the Cecchetti Method of Ballet by the age of 16. During her time there, she was awarded several talent based scholarships from the Cecchitti Council of America. Furthermore, as a student of Rose Marie Floyd and performer with the Contemporary Civic Ballet, Tina received a scholarship from the Joffrey School of Ballet each summer for four consecutive teenage years, a feat that would help her on her way to becoming a member of the Joffrey Ballet Company in 1970. Once she retired from professional ballet, it was only after marrying and raising five children that Tina would return to dance around 20 years ago, this time as both student and educator. Tina has taught been on faculty at many schools around the Sacramento area including NCDC, Leighton Dance Project, and was most recently ballet mistress for CORE Contemporary Dance. She has choreographed numerous dance performances, and has a strong passion and love for training young aspiring ballerinas. Tina is very excited that she has returned back to the NCDC Faculty!
