Office Assistant & Registrar – Part Time
Position Overview:
Come work with us! We are looking for a dynamic, positive-minded individual to join the NCDC team in the role of Office Assistant & Registrar. The Office Assistant Is a self directed and enthusiastic leader who understands and promotes the vision, mission and values of NCDC. Reporting to the Office Manager, the School Office Assistant serves as the initial point-of-contact for dancers and families as they come into the studio. The Office Assistant is a key member of the NCDC team performing a wide variety of customer service tasks as well as administrative support for the Office Manager. Should be able to work in a high-energy environment with children and teens and present a positive, friendly, and professional attitude.
Work Schedule:
10-15 hours a week – Schedule can be flexible but must be able to work a combination of some evenings and some Saturdays.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Serves as front-line point-of-contact for Northern California Dance Conservatory
- Introduces school programs to prospective students and their parents by telephone and email
- Provides tours of the facility.
- Manage and facilitate student retention for all programs, including making phone calls and follow up emails
- Provides ongoing support for customers, responds to their questions and needs by phone, email, and in-person.
- Works with the office manager to follow up upon all placement classes
- Provides administrative support for the Office Manager
Qualifications
- general office or customer service experience preferred
- Exceptional customer service – in person, over the phone, and via email
- Proven ability to work independently in a fast paced environment
- Great team player, capable of working with various personalities.
- Excellent knowledge of google docs and an ability to learn studio management software (Jackrabbit).
- Social media marketing or graphic design experience a plus
- Dance or performing arts background is a plus

ASSISTANT TO THE COSTUME MANAGER
Are you a fashion-loving, organized, artistic, creative person? NCDC is looking to hire a superstar Assistant Costume Manager/Designer in our costume department. Although prior experience is not required, what we DO require is strong organizational skills, work ethic, positive attitude and creativity. Your main responsibility will be to coordinate the costumes for our Open Division Dancers for our Holiday and End of the Season Shows and assist the Costume Manager as requested.
Position Specific Responsibilities May Include::
- Help Maintain costume shop, costume storage, organization, and facilities.
- Fittings & Measurements
- Work with choreographers to find costumes out of the closet or purchase new costumes from the costume catalogs.
- Schedule and supervise seamstresses as needed
- Manage the alteration of existing costumes when needed.
- Pressing and steaming as needed
- Sanitize and wash costumes as needed
- Update and maintain costume database
- Hand sewing and finishing as needed (if this is a skill of yours). If not
- Coordinate base and undergarments as needed
- Work with teachers to order costumes from costume catalogs if needed
- Manage costume rentals and returns
- Preparing and maintaining dressing rooms
- Attend tech/dress rehearsal as needed
Qualifications
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Ability to work in a team and maintain a professional demeanor at all times
- Sewing skills is a PLUS but not necessary!
- Excellent organization and communication skills
- Energy, flexibility & patience
- Experience with dance costuming is a plus but not required.
- Creativity!
Work Schedule:
Looking for someone who can manage their time efficiently and that gets the job done. Hours are flexible. Specific hours are needed on occasion for setting up dressing rooms, measuring classes, dress rehearsals etc.

Social Media & Marketing Associate
Looking for a part-time social media and marketing guru to work with us in a fun artistic environment. Our Social Media and Marketing Associate will
- generate, edit, publish and share engaging content on a regular basis (e.g. original text, photos, videos, industry news).
- Execute plans from the school’s calendar in order to grow our social media presence and increase overall brand awareness.
- Communicate with followers, respond to queries in a timely manner and monitor customer reviews.
- Oversee social media accounts (e.g. Facebook, Instagram). Experience with WordPress and Canvas is a definite plus!
- Suggest and implement new features to develop brand awareness, like promotions and competitions, or new platforms e.g. TikTok.
- Assist with photo and video shoots as required
- Assist with media editing and updating of digital and print marketing materials as required.
- Flexible hours!
Knowledge and/or interest in the dance industry desired. Experience in paid advertising and tracking metrics preferred. Friendly, professional, with excellent attention to detail. Strong organizational skills are a MUST!

We work hard at NCDC but we like to play too! Looking for 3-4 people to make up our Party & Special Events Committee. If you enjoy party planning, are organized, and love to spread joy and fun, this volunteer opportunity is for you!
Position Specific Responsibilities:
- Provide decorations and activities at the Community Open House in September
- Organize the Holiday Conservatory Division Party
- Help coordinate 1 team building activity through the season
- Organize the Conservatory Division end of the season party

We want to show our teachers and staff how much we appreciate the work they do with our students. They are not just creating dancers, but incredible humans that will go out and make a difference in the world.

- Provide birthday, holiday and end of the season gifts and recognition
- Organize faculty and staff meals during shows
