Class Schedules
NCDC is excited to offer the following classes for the 2022-23 dance season.
Classes start on August 15th
Classes are either technique only or technique/performing classes. Performing classes will have 1 to 2 opportunities each season to perform.
Performing classes are labeled if they are performing in the Holiday Show, End-of-Year show, or both
- Perf HS/YE = both the Holiday Show and the End-of-Year show
- Perf YE = just the End-0f-Year show
- Perf HS = just the Holiday Show

Ballet/ Tap Combo |

Basic Ballet | No prior dance training required. Basic Ballet introduces foundational ballet vocabulary for body & spacial awareness; including leg and body directions, turn-out, musicality, discipline focus, moving steps through space. All level placements are confirmed by instructor evaluation. |
Ballet 1 | Prior ballet training required, such as Basic Ballet. Ballet 1 uses foundational ballet vocabulary for body & spacial awareness; including leg and body directions, turn-out alignment & strength, foot articulations, musicality, discipline focus, moving patterns and rhythms. Recommendation: 2 times per week. All level placements are confirmed by instructor evaluation. |
Ballet 2 | Prior ballet training required, such as Ballet 1. Ballet 2 continues building ballet vocabulary foundations with additional detail combining turn-out alignment & strength, foot articulations, musicality, discipline focus, and classic choreography. Recommendation: 2 times per week minimum. All level placements are confirmed by instructor evaluation. |
Ballet 3 | Prior ballet training required, such as Ballet 2. Ballet 3 builds ballet vocabulary with focus on body alignment, strength, and ability to learn and reproduce basic combinations of steps and rhythms. Recommendation: 3 times per week minimum. All level placements are confirmed by instructor evaluation. |
Ballet 4 | Prior ballet training required, such as Ballet 3. Ballet 4 focuses on body alignment strength, and ability to reproduce combinations of steps and rhythms with the goal to begin pointe work. Recommendation: 3 times per week minimum. All level placements are confirmed by instructor evaluation. |
Ballet 5 | Prior ballet training required, such as Ballet 4. Ballet 5 focuses on building pointe work and ballet vocabulary. Expectation of care to details and artistry are incorporated throughout class. Recommendation: 4 times per week minimum. All level placements are confirmed by instructor evaluation. |
Ballet 6 | Prior ballet training required, such as Ballet 5. Ballet 6 continues building pointe and ballet vocabulary. Expectation of additional care to details, artistry, and musicality are incorporated throughout all classes. Recommendation: 4 times per week minimum. All level placements are confirmed by instructor evaluation. |
Upper Conservatory Division | Must be accepted into UCD program |
Int/ Adv Ballet | Must have an understanding of ballet terminology, musicality, and technique. |
