Cheyenne Strauser began her training in the North Lake Tahoe-Truckee, CA area with InnerRhythms Dance Theatre and RhythMatrix.  While with RhythMatrix, Cheyenne performed in a youth outreach project which toured locally as well as nationally. Upon graduating from high school, Cheyenne attended the Alonzo King LINES Ballet Training Program in San Francisco. There she was trained in Pedagogy, and worked teaching ballet and modern to youth at Presidio Middle School. There she also performed works by Carmen Rozestraten, Dexandro Montalvo, Michael Velez, Kara Davis, Sunny Shen, Gregory P. Dawson, Maurya Kerr, and LINES company member Keelan Whitmore.

In 2012 she danced in ZiRu Dance’s International Tour to Beijing and with Kelli Leighton’s CORE Contemporary Dance in Sacramento, CA. While in Sacramento Cheyenne taught ballet and hiphop for Studio T.. Cheyenne relocated to the Norfolk, Virginia area in June 2013 where she performed as a Soloist with Todd Rosenlieb Dance and Virginia Ballet Theatre.  She taught Jazz, Ballet and Yoga at the Governor’s School for the Arts in Norfolk, as well as Co-Directed the youth dance competition team at Elevate Performing Arts Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She moved back to the Sacramento area to perform with CORE Contemporary Dance in 2016. She teaches ballet for Leighton Dance Project in Folsom, CA and is excited to be a part of the faculty at NCDC this season!
